45 days of focused work on how you're seen, who knows your work, and who speaks for you. For senior managers, directors and executives aiming for the next level, inside their organisation or beyond it.
The room where they decide about you is not the room where they watch you work. At senior levels, advancement depends on more than performance: whether your work shows you're ready for the next level, whether the right people know about it, and whether someone speaks up for you when the decision is made.
Most capable people know this in principle and never get round to working on it. There's always something more urgent. The Career Advancement Sprint makes it the priority for 45 days. We diagnose where your advancement is getting stuck, then work through the moves that matter most: your visibility, your sponsors and champions, your profile and the conversations that shape your next step. You do the work. We direct it and review it.
We think about careers the way a product team thinks about going to market: what you offer, who needs to know, and how they hear about it. Ian Christie, our founder, ran product management at Monster.com and more than 200 executive searches before building The Bold Career Project. From the search side, we saw how often a shortlist started with a name someone mentioned.
How it works
Before we start: a short intake, your résumé, your LinkedIn URL and the Positioning Scorecard
Kickoff and Diagnosis (90 minutes): what your next level requires, how you're seen now, and which bottleneck is holding you back
Your Sprint Brief, within 48 hours: your goal, the diagnosis and the priority moves, on one page
Three working sessions (60 minutes each): focused on your priorities, from your stakeholder map to your next conversation with leadership
Up to four reviews: written or video feedback on your profile, bio, messages or plans
Two Quick Calls (15 minutes): for before a key conversation
Your Sprint Wrap, at the end: what changed, where you stand, and the moves for the next ninety days
What we can focus on
Your next level: what it requires, and whether your work is evidence for it
How you're seen: by your leaders, your peers and your market
Your visibility: where your work is seen, and where it should be
Your relationships: sponsors, champions and who could recommend you
Your network: reactivating it without it feeling transactional
Your profile: LinkedIn, bio and how you show up when someone looks you up
Materials we can review: LinkedIn profile · professional bio · stakeholder and sponsor map · messages to leaders or your network · self-assessment or performance summary · visibility plan
Also included: the Advancement Toolkit [champions and mentors map, Career Story Checklist, visibility planner] · 90 days of access to our career platform
A good fit if you're a senior manager, director or executive doing strong work, wanting more scope or a bigger role, and you suspect the way you're seen is holding you back more than the work itself. If a specific promotion decision is coming up, the Promotion Sprint is built for that.
Here is what we control and what we don't. We can't decide who gets promoted or what the market offers. We can make sure your value is visible, your relationships are working for you, and you're prepared for the conversations that matter.
Details: 45 days from your kickoff session. One extension of up to two weeks is available on request. All sessions one to one, by video. Confidential. Questions between sessions are handled in your next session or a Quick Call. Need more time together? Add an extra session within your Sprint. When your Sprint ends, you can continue with monthly coaching.
